Lake Argyle Tours

.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Australia’s largest man-made lake is Lake Argyle and your north Australia tour would not be complete without a visit to it.

Lake Argyle was created upon the completion of the Ord River Dam in 1971. It is primarily fed by the Ord river system.
Because of the damming of the Ord River a new sustainable ecosystem was created allowing different species of fish to thrive in the Lake.

The body of water has provided diversity and an introduction of a new habitat for many wetland creatures including fish, birds and a variety of vegetation.

Many people enjoy swimming, bird watching and fishing in the beautiful lake.

Our Kimberley tours will provide tourists the opportunity to visit Australia’s Lake Argyle.

Kimberley Outback tours brings visitors out on the Kimberley Cat, a fifty foot catamaran which provides exquisite views of Lake Argyle and an opportunity to kick back in style.

During the cruise you will sail around the lake, to the many islands and watch the beautiful sunset amongst the scenery.
Lake Argyle is yet another of our favourite spots in the Kimberleys.
